These photos was be published in ODYSSEY's Volume 13 Issue 3. The article is about a student at Clarke Central who identifies as gender fluid. This is a good example of my expertise as a photojournalist. In the first photo, I set up a light kit to create a professional studio environment. Logen is wearing both male and female clothes and is wearing makeup on half his face and none on the other half. This image symbolizes Logen's true identity, and how they can feel a connection with both genders. In the bottom image, Logen is looking at himself in the mirror while wearing a chest binder in order to constrain his breasts. I went to his home for the bottom photo so I could make Logen as comfortable as possible.

Envisioning a Better Athens was published in Volume 13 Issue 3. My old Viewpoints editor Tiernan and I worked patiently on this piece because we wanted to capture Ed Moore in his natural state. We went to interview and take pictures of him twice, both with persistence to get the material we needed. I was excited to shoot for this article – it was my first photo shoot outside of Clarke Central. I was not afraid to get in his face in order to get the shots I needed, but I also maintained a respectful distance and attitude. I was willing to go back for a second photo shoot because I knew it was what we needed to complete the article.

During the summer of 2015, I made a photo gallery of Athens' music festival "Athfest." This was an amazing experience – I was given a press pass so I got to get right in front of the shots and get awesome angles. These were some of the first photos I took that I was really proud of. At the beginning of my career as a photographer, I took photos of my dad and his bands, and ever since. I have loved taking photos of musicians. I love the colors, energy and passion shown in these photos.

This is another music festival that I took photos of called Slingshot. These photos got a lot of hits because the people in the photos are well known.

This photo gallery was published on April 16. I was asked to take photos of the event by a teacher at Clarke Central and initially did it to help her. The pictures went viral on Twitter. Clarke Central students enjoyed the expression of their cultures and the celebration of the diversity at CCHS.

This is going to be a photo essay in ODYSSEY's upcoming issue. The spread and article is about food trucks. We are going to have two sister articles, one with specific focus on one food truck called Holy Crepe and another just about the food truck industry in Athens. This was a really cool opportunity- I set up the photo shoot at a good time so that the lighting would look nice, and I got to go inside the food truck and take this personal photo.

These Thai food restaurant photos were published in volume 13 issue 3. They will go under a spread that we call "Quest for Athens Best" which reviews two top businesses for a variety feature. This is not only a print spread, but is also going to be an online package in order to encompass a variety of viewers.

These photos were published in ODYSSEY's volume 13 issue 3 in the sports section. I was very passionate and motivated to get the first swimming photo. I even laid on the wet ground on my stomach to get a good angle. I think the photo is intriguing because of how much emotion he has in that breath of air. The photo below is for the sport section's "Star Players" layout. This photo has strong composition because I made sure to avoid a tilted horizon and I picked an opportunity with an amazing sky. I have always faced difficulty taking photos of baseball because I usually have to take photos through the fence. This time, however, I was given the opportunity to go out on the field and get the shot I had in mind. I have come to realize my best photos happen when they are the the most thought out and planned.

This photo was published in issue 3 as a two-page spread. The article is about a program offered at our school which allows high schoolers go to college early. I used a light kit to take this photo so the lighting is very pleasing.

“Living without lockers” and “Basically acidic” were published in Issue 2 November 2014 and were some of the first photos I took for the magazine. I was able to experiment with shadows and lighting in both photos and had to come up with ideas on what to shoot.

This was published in Issue 1 2015. I was just in the right place, at the right time – the sinkhole was down the street from my high school and I got a shot of it. One can find this photo on a full page in the "In Focus" section of the magazine which focuses on community life.
